Starting with eight free spins
Three or more Scatter symbols trigger eight free spins in the checked rules. One regular symbol is chosen randomly as the special expanding symbol. The Scatter is excluded from that selection. The same tomb symbol's Wild role in ordinary play is a separate function from its role in starting the bonus.
The selected symbol expands when enough of its instances land to create the relevant additional award. It covers the positions on its reels, and the expanded-symbol award does not require those reels to be adjacent in the same way as an ordinary line win. This exception belongs to the selected symbol during the feature; it is not a licence to count all separated regular symbols as a win.
What a retrigger adds
Another qualifying Scatter result awards eight additional spins and selects another special expanding symbol. Watch the feature's selection display after that event. A later expansion involving a different character may reflect the added selection rather than a change to the ordinary paytable.
Consider a feature that begins with symbol A selected and later adds symbol B. A subsequent screen can now contain arrangements relevant to either selected type. That does not mean A and B merge into one mixed-symbol line: each retains its identity and must satisfy its own qualifying rule. The distinction prevents an attractive but invalid calculation based on adding unlike symbols together.
Eight spins versus ten is an incomplete comparison
Book of Dead's initial feature awards ten spins, whereas the checked Legacy of Dead rules start with eight. That single number cannot rank the two features. Legacy's additional expanding-symbol selection on a retrigger is part of its design, and the games' paytables and mathematical distributions are not interchangeable.
The useful question is what happens during an extension and what the active rules allow afterwards. The article on slot sequels and variations shows why a changed counter is only one part of a mechanical comparison.
The optional card gamble
The published help describes a post-win card gamble with colour and suit choices, available for up to five successive attempts. This is separate from the free-spin feature. Choosing it risks the amount offered to the gamble; a completed line win is no longer simply being collected.
A payout should therefore be recorded at the point it is actually retained. If a €12 round award is subsequently lost in the gamble, the session did not retain that €12. Conversely, a successful gamble is another event with its own risk, not proof that the original spin had a better return. The session journal guide provides a way to separate these movements.
Coins, currency and advertised ceilings
The developer's product description uses a maximum expressed in coins. The checked operator help separately states a monetary ceiling. Neither number can be relabelled as a multiple of total stake without knowing the denomination, active lines and applicable configuration.
That is why this review does not convert a large promotional coin figure into an unsupported × value. For a concrete result, read the game's displayed total stake and actual award, then divide like currency amounts. A €180 payout at a €0.60 total stake is 300× gross payout; the net change from that paid round is €179.40 before any separate gamble.
