Deadwood Demo & Slot Review

A Hunter Wild lands partly outside the field, nudges into full view and gains a multiplier with each step. Deadwood makes that movement the centre of its design. The bonus choice then asks a more interesting question: do you want the documented guaranteed Hunter arrival each spin, or the Gunslinger mode’s multiplier that persists through the feature?

Deadwood

3.8 out of 5

Deadwood is Nolimit City’s original Western xNudge slot, dated 6 May 2020 in the current catalog. The game sheet shows five reels in a 3–4–4–4–3 arrangement. Hunter Wilds are four symbols high and nudge until fully visible, so the starting reel shape and a modified Wild field need to be distinguished.

The Nolimit City profile is the route to its related designs. This review covers the original Deadwood, with Hunter Spins, Gunslinger Spins and Shoot Out upgrades. It does not borrow rules from a later similarly named game or from an unrelated bonus description pasted into a product summary.

Deadwood Return:
from 90.13% to 96.03%

The sheet lists the main configuration at 96.03%, DX1 at 94.15% and DX3 at 90.13%. Its introductory text also gives small ranges of 96.02–96.03% and 94.14–94.15% for the first two setups. Check the actual selected configuration and mode rather than treating one percentage as universal.

Deadwood review overview

The nudge is part of the calculation

A Hunter Wild can arrive partly visible, then move until the full four-high symbol is in view. Each step increases its Wild multiplier by one. The movement therefore has a stated mathematical role; it is not merely an animation that plays after the award has already been described to the reader.

Where several Wild multipliers contribute to the same winning combination, the game sheet says they add. That is different from games where participating multipliers multiply together. The shared word “multiplier” does not establish the operation.

The bonus choice changes what is retained

Three Scatters award eight spins in either Hunter or Gunslinger mode. Hunter guarantees at least one Hunter Wild per feature spin. Gunslinger retains a growing win multiplier through the feature. Those are different promises, neither of which guarantees that the final award exceeds the cost of reaching or purchasing the bonus.

Compare Dead or Alive 2 for another Western game with mode-specific Wild behaviour. The settings are similar, but its Sticky Wild and Train Heist rules are not the rules of Deadwood.

Who Deadwood suits

Deadwood suits readers who want to study one central Nolimit mechanic before moving to a denser game such as Mental. It still requires careful reading of multiplier units and feature persistence. If you prefer a fully fixed field and a short single-stage bonus, the nudges and potential upgrades may feel like unnecessary complication.

Best for

  • Readers comparing immediate Wild modifiers with persistent feature multipliers
  • People who want a rule-linked Western feature rather than only Western artwork
  • Players learning how xNudge operates in this specific title

Not ideal for

  • Anyone equating a guaranteed Hunter with a guaranteed positive round result
  • Readers who assume Wild multipliers always multiply together across games
  • Players looking for an unqualified purchase price copied from a generic product summary

How Deadwood rules and features work

Hunter Wilds move into full view

The game-specific sheet describes a four-row-high Hunter Wild that can appear on any reel. If it is not fully visible, it nudges into view and gains one multiplier unit for each step. Read the final displayed value rather than estimating it only from the amount of the character initially visible.

The Wild must still contribute under the game’s combination rules. Its arrival is not itself a cash award equal to the multiplier label. The Wild-symbol category explains why substitution, expansion and payout modification are separate parts of a Wild’s behaviour.

Add the participating Wild values

The sheet explicitly states that multiple Wild multipliers add for the relevant winning combination. If the applicable Wild values are 2× and 3×, their combined modifier is 5×, not 6×. For an illustrative €0.80 eligible pre-multiplier award, that gives €4.

This example isolates the addition rule. It is not a claim about the payout of a particular regular symbol. Use the supplied paytable to establish the underlying award first, as explained in the paytable guide.

Sheriff badges change low symbols on the middle reels

Two Sheriff badges activate Shoot Out. The low-paying card symbols from A through 10 on the middle reels become Wilds. The modifier targets a defined set of symbols and reels; it does not say that every position on the whole field becomes Wild.

That boundary helps when reading a busy outcome. Premium character symbols remain a different category, and the outer reels should not be treated as though they received the same blanket conversion. More Wild positions can change the result without guaranteeing a particular total.

Hunter Spins guarantee an arrival, not a return

Three Scatters give access to the mode choice, and Hunter Spins starts with eight free spins. At least one Hunter Wild is guaranteed on each spin under the official sheet. Its multiplier develops through the same nudging idea used by the main game.

The guarantee concerns the presence of a feature symbol. It does not specify that every spin pays more than the original base stake, nor that the complete feature covers the cost of earlier paid rounds. This is a useful distinction whenever a game advertises a guaranteed modifier.

Gunslinger retains the feature multiplier

Gunslinger also begins with eight spins. Its central difference is a win multiplier that persists through the feature and grows through the nudging mechanic. The sheet describes it as unlimited, but the game still has an overall payout cap. “Unlimited” in a feature description does not remove that separate stopping condition.

For a recorded sequence, note the retained value before the next spin. Do not reset it merely because the reel field changed. Conversely, do not apply a value developed later in the sequence retroactively to an earlier award.

Either route can become Shoot Out Free Spins

Three Scatters together with the two Sheriff badges can start the Shoot Out version of the selected feature. Two badges during an ordinary Hunter or Gunslinger feature can also upgrade it. The result is the stated low-symbol conversion on the middle reels alongside the chosen mode’s existing rules.

This is an upgrade of a feature route, not evidence that a second separately paid bonus was purchased. The session journal guide helps keep the attached resolutions together when recording the result of one paid round.

Purchase availability is documented, a common price is not

The official sheet confirms a Nolimit Bonus entry option, with availability depending on the supplied market. It does not provide a complete price table in the reviewed material. The current webpage’s purchase paragraph names unrelated animal-themed modes, so those names and any implied costs are excluded from this card.

If a supplied version offers a purchase, read its confirmation in currency. For a purely illustrative €40 purchase returning €25, the net result is −€15 regardless of the base-stake multiple shown beside the payout. The Bonus Buy guide explains why a purchase cost must be recorded separately from the displayed base stake.

The stated cap is 13,950×

The official sheet and current listing agree on a maximum payout figure of 13,950× the base stake. It is not a progressive jackpot and does not grow with play by other people. A persistent Gunslinger modifier remains subject to the game’s payout rules rather than creating an uncapped prize.

The provider also publishes simulated hit and feature frequencies. They describe its mathematical sample, not a timetable. A run without a feature does not make the next Sheriff badge or Scatter owed.

Reading the original game sheet instead of mismatched summary fields

The review uses Nolimit City’s original Deadwood sheet and current product data, checked on 15 October 2026. The game sheet supplies the uneven field, two-mode choice, Wild-multiplier addition and Shoot Out conversion. No cash session, measured nudge frequency or handset benchmark is claimed.

The current catalog contains an obvious stake-data problem: its minimum, maximum and default fields do not form a sensible common range. The original sheet instead gives a €0.20–€100 reference range with configurable defaults. The review does not present the broken current fields as a universal playable limit; the supplied bet control is the check for an actual amount.

There is also a copied purchase paragraph naming features from another game. Keeping the source does not mean repeating every line of it. The relevant Deadwood sheet confirms that purchase functionality exists, while leaving the exact current entry prices to the supplied rules and confirmation.

For a feature recording, establish the selected mode, whether Shoot Out is active and the multiplier state before each result. A single frame with several hunters is not enough to reconstruct the entire award. The distinction between official mechanics and observed outcomes remains explicit throughout the assessment.

How to play Deadwood responsibly

Eight spins with a guaranteed Hunter can sound more certain than the actual promise. The guarantee is about symbol arrival, not profit or a minimum feature payout. Set a spending limit before play, read any purchase cost in currency and judge the completed session rather than the largest multiplier seen during it.

  1. Read the selected mode.

Hunter’s arrival guarantee and Gunslinger’s persistent multiplier are different conditions.

  2. Use the correct multiplier operation.

Participating Wild multipliers add under the documented Deadwood rule.

  3. Check the supplied purchase panel.

A confirmed feature option does not establish one universal price across builds.

Symbols and Paytable

Hunter Wilds are four-high symbols that nudge into view and gain multiplier value. Scatters open the free-spin choice. Sheriff badges activate or upgrade Shoot Out, which changes the low A-to-10 symbols on the middle reels into Wilds. Premium characters are separate from that low-symbol group.

Hunter Wild

Four high; nudges fully into view and gains one multiplier unit per step. Relevant Wild multipliers add.

Sheriff badge

Two activate Shoot Out or upgrade an active free-spin mode.

Scatter

Three open the choice between eight Hunter Spins and eight Gunslinger Spins.

The table summarises the documented mode and upgrade conditions. It does not invent regular-symbol values absent from the source sheet. Establish the underlying combination award in the supplied paytable before adding the relevant Wild multipliers.

Feature Confirmed rule
Hunter Spins 8 spins; at least 1 Hunter per spin
Gunslinger Spins 8 spins; persistent multiplier
Shoot Out 2 Sheriff badges convert middle-reel low symbols

A badge is a feature trigger, not an ordinary Wild. A Hunter’s height is also not a payout value: the nudge count and final modifier need to be read from the resolved state. The 13,950× game cap is separate from an individual symbol’s multiplier.

Deadwood RTP, volatility and maximum win

The sheet’s main table lists 96.03%, 94.15% for DX1 and 90.13% for DX3, while its introductory range wording varies by one hundredth for the first two. At the main-table values, €200 of turnover corresponds to theoretical losses of €7.94, €11.70 and €19.74. These are long-run comparisons, not session forecasts. The provider calls the game Extreme on its own volatility scale; a less volatile bonus choice does not make the whole title a low-volatility game.

How to interpret the numbers

Key point 1

A guaranteed Hunter is a guaranteed feature-symbol arrival. It does not establish a guaranteed profitable spin or a minimum return on a purchased bonus.

Key point 2

On a phone, read whether Shoot Out is active before interpreting low symbols on the middle reels. The converted and unconverted field can look similar at a glance.

Key point 3

RTP configuration and bonus choice are separate checks. Do not use the highest listed percentage without identifying the supplied build.

Deadwood on mobile

The official sheet specifies HTML5 mobile and desktop support and a reference 16:9 layout. No device-specific performance claim is made here. On a small screen, the important observations are the Wild’s nudge steps, its final multiplier, the selected mode and the Shoot Out state. Those details explain the award more directly than the size of the character animation.

Mobile checks

  • Read the selected Hunter or Gunslinger mode

  • Keep the final Wild multiplier visible after nudging

  • Check whether Sheriff badges activated Shoot Out

  • Open the supplied rules for the current stake and purchase settings

Deadwood compared with other games

Dead or Alive 2 uses its own Sticky Wild and Train Heist systems on a Western field. San Quentin moves Wilds while retaining their values. Mental combines framed positions and transformations. Deadwood is more focused on the connection between a Wild’s nudge movement and its multiplier.

Deadwood compared with other games
Game Return / max win Volatility Bonus fit Watch out for
Deadwood 90.13%–96.03% / 13,950× Extreme Eight Hunter or Gunslinger spins can gain a Shoot Out upgrade that turns low symbols on the middle reels Wild. Multiple relevant Wild multipliers add in this game; a multiplier rule from another Nolimit title must not replace that operation.
Mental 94.20%–96.08% / 66,666× Extreme Autopsy adds sticky frames, Lobotomy a sticky Spider and Dead Multiplier interaction, and Mental two sticky Spiders with a non-decreasing Dead Multiplier. The feature tiers, patient multipliers and total game cap are separate pieces of information; a large number alone does not explain the credited award.
San Quentin xWays 90.11%–96.03% / 150,000× Extreme Lockdown opens all Enhancer Cells, starts with one to three Jumping Wilds and reveals its spin allowance before play. A 2,000× entry cost can exceed a large-looking base-stake return; use the actual purchase price when calculating profit or loss.

The game’s strongest comparison point is what the chosen feature retains. That gives a clearer basis for evaluation than the Western theme or the maximum figure alone.

How this Deadwood review was checked

Publication status: Original Deadwood game sheet and current product data checked on 15 October 2026. Broken stake fields and unrelated purchase copy are excluded from factual claims.

  • Mechanics — 4.2/5, weight 30%. Nudging, multiplier addition and Shoot Out conversion form a focused set of interacting rules.

  • Pace and variety — 3.6/5, weight 25%. The two modes vary persistence, although repeated nudge sequences can revisit the same interaction.

  • Distinctiveness — 3.9/5, weight 20%. The Hunter-versus-Gunslinger contrast gives the original a clear identity beyond its Western setting.

  • Rules and controls — 3.1/5, weight 15%. The core sheet is useful, but conflicting current stake fields and unrelated purchase copy reduce clarity.

  • Presentation — 4.0/5, weight 10%. The tall Hunter characters make the central nudge movement visually recognizable in official materials.

  • How the total is calculated. 4.2 × 0.30 + 3.6 × 0.25 + 3.9 × 0.20 + 3.1 × 0.15 + 4.0 × 0.10 = 3.805, rounded to 3.8/5.

  • Evidence and limits. The score evaluates documented design and official presentation. It does not claim a paid session, measured hit rate or independently verified frequency of Shoot Out upgrades.

FAQs

How does a Hunter Wild gain a multiplier?

It nudges until its four-high symbol is fully visible, gaining one multiplier unit for each step according to the game sheet.

Do multiple Wild multipliers add or multiply?

The official Deadwood sheet says the relevant Wild multipliers add. For example, 2× and 3× give a combined 5× modifier for the qualifying combination, not 6×.

What is the difference between Hunter and Gunslinger Spins?

Both start with eight spins. Hunter guarantees at least one Hunter Wild per spin, while Gunslinger retains a developing win multiplier through the feature.

What does Shoot Out change?

Two Sheriff badges activate the conversion of low A-to-10 symbols on the middle reels into Wilds. The feature can also upgrade either free-spin route.

Does the Hunter guarantee mean every spin is profitable?

No. It guarantees a feature-symbol arrival, not a minimum award above the stake or recovery of the cost of reaching the bonus.

Which RTP figures are documented for the original?

The sheet lists 96.03%, 94.15% for DX1 and 90.13% for DX3, with small range wording for the first two elsewhere in the same sheet. Check the supplied configuration rather than assuming the highest figure.
