Gates of Olympus 2500: the important change is how multipliers accumulate
The official Gates of Olympus 2500 page describes free-spin variants with different accumulation rules: one collects multipliers on winning rounds, another collects all multipliers for subsequent wins. Super variants use a 10× minimum multiplier. Individual symbols can reach 2,500×. Source cutoff: 14 October 2026.
Identify the variant before interpreting the counter
The difference is about when a multiplier enters the accumulated value. A multiplier landing without a qualifying win may have a different role depending on the selected variant. A clip that omits the mode-selection screen can therefore be hard to interpret accurately.
Do not assume that a familiar-looking counter behaves exactly as it did in an earlier Gates title. The rule attached to this variant determines what the counter remembers.
The Gates of Olympus 2500 review provides the game-level route from this announcement. When comparing footage, capture the selected mode before following the multiplier counter. Then distinguish a value landing, a value entering the stored total and that total being applied to a win. Treating those as separate events makes it possible to explain why two similar-looking rounds can have different roles within their respective variants.
Why a non-winning round can matter to the sequence
Imagine a feature in which the rules explicitly retain a multiplier from a round with no symbol payout. That round might credit no money while still changing the value available to a later winning round.
This is an explanation of a state change, not a claim that every zero-return spin improves future outcomes. Outside a documented persistent feature, an unsuccessful spin is not evidence that a win is becoming due.
When analysing footage, record the counter before the round, the new symbols, the credited return and the counter afterwards. That four-part note helps distinguish an immediate payout from stored feature state.
Do not turn a symbol value into the overall cap
A 2,500× multiplier symbol and the maximum permitted return of the complete game are different quantities. To calculate a result, you also need the qualifying win, the combination rule for multipliers and any applicable payout limit.
Likewise, a minimum multiplier in a Super variant does not mean a minimum net profit. Entry cost and the occurrence of qualifying wins still matter.
What to check in the active version
Read the selected mode name, accumulation rule, reset condition, payout cap and stated RTP. If comparing a purchased feature, add its full confirmed price. Availability of modes and purchase options can differ by operator and location.
Our sequel comparison explains the broader method. The paytable guide covers settlement order, while maximum wins versus session outcomes addresses the headline number.
